Aksum University is proud to announce the launch of its 2025 Summer Special Training Program, a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of secondary school teachers and primary school leaders. Held in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, this training reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to educational excellence and workforce development.

Kicking off on July 29, 2025, the Training of Trainers () sessions deliver a short-term yet impactful curriculum combining subject-specific pedagogy with hands-on Educational Technology training. This dual focus ensures that educators are empowered with both content knowledge and digital tools to enhance their classroom practices.

For the first time, the program includes training in Social Sciences, including Ethical Education, History, Geography, and Economics, alongside continued training in English and Natural Sciences such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Teachers who missed previous opportunities have been prioritized, promoting inclusivity and broader participation.

Aksum University secured a strong position, ranking among the top Ethiopia’s 28 universities in Natural Science during the 2024 national assessment. Building on this success, the university is now focused on addressing previous gaps and reaching even higher benchmarks in the current academic year.

Crucially, the program adopts a sustainable model, equipping participants not just as trainees but as future trainers, creating a ripple effect in professional development that will benefit the education sector long-term.
