Aksum, Ethiopia – In a significant move to institutionalize a culture of accountability and excellence, Aksum University has formally initiated the cascading of its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the 2018 E.C. (2025/26 academic year). This process commenced following the university’s execution of a central KPI Agreement with the Ministry of Education on October 10, 2025. To ensure alignment across all tiers of the institution, the University President, Professor Gebreyesus Brhane, has now formally entered into a performance contract with the Vice Presidents Dr. Mulugeta Berihu (Academic Affairs), Dr. Mekonen Aregay (Research and Technology Transfer), and Dr. Abraham Negash (Administration and Development). This strategic initiative is designed to fortify performance-based management, driving the university towards its overarching strategic objectives and national educational priorities. The ceremony establishes a framework of mutual commitment to achieving measurable, ambitious targets in academia, research, technology transfer, and administrative development. The cascading process will continue imminently, with College Deans, Campus Leaders, Directors, and other executives slated to sign subsequent agreements. This systematic delegation ensures that every sector of the university aligns its operational activities with the institution’s central strategic vision, thereby enhancing institutional effectiveness and operational coherence. During the signing ceremony, Professor Gebreyesus Brhane emphasized the critical role of performance metrics as a catalyst for institutional advancement and a mechanism for fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

አክሱም፣ ኢትዮጵያ – የአክሱም ዩኒቨርሲቲ የተጠያቂነት እና የልህቀት ባህልን ተቋማዊ ለማድረግ ያለመ ትልቅ እርምጃ ሲሆን፣ በ2018 ዓ.ም. (ለ2025/26 የትምህርት ዘመን) ተግባራዊ የሚሆኑ የ ቁልፍ የአፈጻጸም መለኪያዎች (KPIs) ቅብብልን (ካስኬዲንግን) በይፋ ጀምሯል።

ይህ ሂደት ዩኒቨርሲቲው ከትምህርት ሚኒስቴር ጋር በጥቅምት 10 ቀን 2025 ዓ.ም. (እ.ኤ.አ.) ማዕከላዊ የKPI ስምምነት መፈረሙን ተከትሎ የተጀመረ ነው። በመሆኑም በተቋሙ ውስጥ ባሉ ሁሉም የሥራ እርከኖች የሥራ ቅንጅት እንዲኖር ለማረጋገጥ፣ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዝዳንት ፕሮፌሰር ገብረየሱስ ብርሃኔ አሁን ከምክትል ፕሬዝዳንቶቹ ማለትም ከ ዶ/ር ሙሉጌታ በሪሁ (አካዳሚክ ጉዳዮች)፣ ከ ዶ/ር መኮነን አረጋይ (ምርምርና ቴክኖሎጂ ሽግግር) እና ከ ዶ/ር አብርሃም ነጋሽ (አስተዳደርና ልማት) ጋር የትብብር ስምምነት በይፋ ተፈራርመዋል።

ይህ ስትራቴጂካዊ ተነሳሽነት በዩኒቨርሲቲው ውስጥ የአፈጻጸም-ተኮር አስተዳደርን ለማጠናከር እና ዩኒቨርሲቲውን ወደ አጠቃላይ ስትራቴጂካዊ ግቦቹና ወደ ብሔራዊ የትምህርት ቅድሚያዎች ለማስኬድ ታስቦ የተዘጋጀ ነው። ሥነ-ሥርዓቱ በአካዳሚክ፣ በምርምር፣ በቴክኖሎጂ ሽግግር እና በአስተዳደር ልማት ዘርፎች የሚለኩ እና ታላቅ ምኞት ያላቸውን ግቦች ለማሳካት የጋራ ቁርጠኝነት ማዕቀፍ ይፈጥራል።

የKPIs ቅብብል (ካስኬዲንግ) ሂደቱ በቅርብ ጊዜ ውስጥ ይቀጥላል። ቀጣይ ስምምነቶችን ለመፈረም የኮሌጅ ዲኖች፣ የካምፓስ መሪዎች፣ ዳይሬክተሮች እና ሌሎች አስፈጻሚዎች ተዘጋጅተዋል። ይህ ስልታዊ የስልጣን ውክልና በዩኒቨርሲቲው ውስጥ ያለ እያንዳንዱ ዘርፍ የአሠራር እንቅስቃሴውን ከተቋሙ ማዕከላዊ ስትራቴጂካዊ ራዕይ ጋር እንዲያስተካክል በማድረግ፣ የድርጅቱን ውጤታማነት እና የአሠራር ወጥነት ያሳድጋል።

በፊርማ ሥነ-ሥርዓቱ ላይ ፕሮፌሰር ገብረየሱስ ብርሃነ የአፈጻጸም መለኪያዎች (performance metrics) ለተቋማዊ እድገት ወሳኝ ሚና ያላቸው ከመሆኑም ባሻገር ቀጣይነት ያለው መሻሻል ባህልን ለማጎልበት እንደ ማበረታቻ መሣሪያ መሆናቸውን አበክረው ገልጸዋል።
