አክሱም ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፣ ሕዳር 23/2018ዓ/ም አክሱም ዩኒቨርሲቲ በዓለም ደረጃ ለ38ኛ ጊዜ የሚከበረውን አለም አቀፍ የኤች ኣይቪ/ኤድስ ቀን በዩኒቨርሲቲው ዋና ግቢ ከተለያዩ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ካምፓስ ሰራተኞች፣ የጤና ባለሞያዎች እና ተማሪዎች ጋር በመሆን ቀኑን አከበረ። በዚህ ስነ ስርዓት ዝግጅት የአክሱም ከተማ ጤና ቢሮ እና የሴቶችና ማሕበራዊ ጉዳዮች አካትቶ ትግበራ በመሆን “ተግዳሮቶችን በመቋቋም የኤች አይቪ ኤድስን ምላሽ በዘላቂነት እናረጋግጥ ’’በሚል መሪ ቃል ከዩኒቨርሲቲ ማሕበረሰብ ጋር ውይይት ተደርገዋል። የአክሱም ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚደንት ፕሮፌሰር ገ/የሱስ ብርሃነ በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው እንዳሉት ኤችአይቪ/ኤድስ ከ1988 እኤአ ጀምሮ በአለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ለ38ኛ ጊዜ እየተከበረ ይገኛል። ዘንድሮም “ተግዳሮቶችን በመቋቋም የኤች አይቪ ኤድስን ምላሽ በዘላቂነት እናረጋግጥ” በሚል መሪ ቃል ስናከብር የአለም አቀፍ ድጋፍ በመቀነሱ ምክንያት ያጋጠመው የፕሮግራም በዘላቂነት ተግዳሮቶችን ለመቋቋም መፍትሄ ለማስቀመጥና አሁን ካለው የኤች ኣይቪ ስርጭትና ተፅዕኖ አንፃር በማየት ነው ብለዋል። በተጨማሪም ዶ/ር ብሩክ ሙሉጌታ ኢንተርናል ሜድካል ስፔሻሊስት በኤች አይቪ ኤድስ ዙርያ ጥናታዊ ፅሁፍ አቅርበዋል ይህ በእንዲህ እንዳለ ከተሳታፊዎች የተለያዩ አስተያየቶች እና ጥያቄዎች በማንሳት ለጥያቄዎቹ ምላሽ በመስጠት፣ በመጨረሻም የአክሱም ዩኒቨርስቲ የአስተዳደርና ልማት ምክትል ፕሬዚደንት ዶ/ር አብርሃም ነጋሽ እንዳሉት ከዚህ አስከፊና ቀዛፊ በሽታ ራሳችን እንጠብቅ መልእክት አስተላልፈዋል። በመጨረሻ በቀን 20/03/2018 ዓ/ም በአክሱም ከተማ የእግር ጉዞ እና የሻማ ማብራት ስነስርዓት ፣በቀን 22/03/2018 ዓ/ም በOSSHDአስተባባሪነት በአክሱም ዩኒቨርሲቲ ዋና ግቢ፣ በሪፈራል ኮምፕረሄንሲቭና ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል የግንዛቤ ማስጨበጫ እና ፓነል ውይይት ማካሄዱ ይታወሳል ።

The 38th World AIDS Day was commemorated at Aksum University’s main campus under the theme “Overcoming disruption transforming the AlDs response.” The event, organized in collaboration with the Aksum Town Health Office and the Women and Social Affairs Inclusive and Implementation Executive Office , featured discussions with the university community. In his opening speech, the President of Aksum University, Professor G/Yesus Brhane, stated that HIV/AIDS has been commemorated internationally for the 38th time since 1988. He emphasized that the choice of this year’s theme, “Overcoming Challenges to Ensure a Sustainable HIV/AIDS Response,” reflects the need to find solutions for program sustainability amid declining global support and to address the current scale and impact of HIV. Furthermore, Dr. Bruk Mulugeta, an Internal Medicine Specialist, presented a research paper on HIV/AIDS. The session was interactive, with participants raising various comments and questions, to which detailed responses were provided. In his closing remarks, Dr. Abraham Negash, Vice President for Administration and Development at Aksum University, underscored the critical message of personal responsibility, urging everyone to “protect ourselves from this devastating and severe disease.” Finally, on March 20, 2018 E.C , a walking tour and candle-lighting ceremony were held in the city of Aksum. On March 22, 2018 E.C, under the coordination of the OSSHD (Organization for Social Service, Health and Development), an awareness-raising campaign and panel discussion took place in the main campus of Aksum University and at the Referral Comprehensive Specialized Hospital.
