The plant, constructed incollbration with Ministry of Health,EthiopiaWorld Bank GroupUNOPS & Afrimed has met international standards for oxygen purity, flow rate, and safety following final inspection.
Speaking at the commissioning, Dr. Mekonen Aregay, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer and Hospital Board Vice Chair, highlighted the plant’s importance in ensuring uninterrupted, 24/7 oxygen supply to critical units and improving post-war healthcare delivery in the region.
Dr. G/hiwot Teklehaimanot, CEO of the College of Health Sciences and CSH, expressed appreciation to all partners, noting that the facility will not only serve the hospital but also support surrounding health institutions.
The event concluded with the formal handover of the facility, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the region’s healthcare system.
