ብ ዕለት 21/02/2018 ዓ/ም ብፕረዚደንት ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣኽሱም ፕሮፌሰር ገ/የሱስ ብርሃነ ዝተመርሐ ልኡኽ ኣብ ወረዳ አሕፈሮም ጣብያ ላዕላይ መጋርያ ፀምሪ ፣ ቁሸት ልሑፅ ዕንወት ዘጋጠመን ክሳብ ሕዚ ዘይተፀገና ዝነበራ ማይ ቡምባ ብሰብ ሞይኡን መምህራኑን ኣፀጊኑ። ብተወሳኺ ዝተፈላለዩ መቀያየሪ ኣቑሑት ኣረኪቡ ፤ ቅድም ክብል ብሞደፊክ ዘስርሐንን ኣብ እቲ ጣብያ ዝርከባ ማይ ቡምባ እውን ተዘዋዊሩ ተዓዚቡ። ሕብረተሰብ ወረዳ ኣሕፈሮም ብኣግባቡ ይጥቀመለን ከም ዘሎ እውን ኣረጋጊፁ ተመሊሱ።
ምምሕዳር ሃፍቲ ማይ እቲ ወረዳ ኣይተ ገ/ፃዲቕ ገብረሩፋኤል ” ብልያቡ ዝተጎሓላ ልዕሊ 35 ማይ ቡንባታት ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣኽሱም ሙሉእ ፅገናን መቀያየሪ ኣቑሑትን መወዝወዚ (Hand Pump) ብ ሞደፊክ ብምስራሕ ንተጠቀምቲ ሙሉእ ግልጋሎት ክህባ ስለ ዝገበረልና ብሽም ወረዳ ኣሕፈሮም ምስጋና ነቐርብ ምስ በሉ ፤ ብፕረዚደንት ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣኽሱም ፕሮፌሰር ገ/የሱስ ብርሃነ፣ ምክትል ፕረዚደንት ምርምርን ስግግርን ቴክኖሎጅን ዶ/ር መኮነን አረጋይ ፣ ዳይሬክተር ማሕበረሰብ አገልግሎት ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣኽሱም ዶ/ር በርሀ ታፈረን ካልኦት ኣመራርሓን ሰብ ሞያን ኣብዚ ምሳና ተረኺብኩም ነዘን ዘስራሕኹመን ማይ ቡምባ ክትርእዩን ዘይተሰርሓ ድማ ክተስርሑ ብምምፃእኹም ክብሪ ይግበኣኩም ” ክብሉ ሓሳቦም ወሲኾም ገሊፆም።
ነበርቲ ወረዳ ኣሕፈሮም አውን ብሊያቡ ዝተሰረቓን ዕንወት በፂሑወን ካብ ግልጋሎት ወፃኢ ኮይነን ፅሩይ ዝስተ ማይ ከይንሰቲ ተፀጊምና ዝነበርና ሕዚ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣኽሱም መወዝወዚ ማይ ቡንባ ፀጊኑን መቀያየሪ ኣቕሑት ሂቡን ፅሩይ ማይ ክንሰቲ ስለ ዝገበረ ምስጋና ይግብኦ ኢሎም።
ኣብ መወዳእታ ፕሮፌሰር ገ/የሱስ ብርሃነ ካብ ነበርቲ ንዝቐረበሎም ሕቶ ካልኦት ቀፀልቲ ሓገዛት እንትምልሱ “ፀገም ማ/ሰብ ሰፊሕን ብዙሕን እዩ ፤ እንተኾነ እውን ነዚ ፀገም እዚ ንምፍታሕ ምስ ዝምልከቶም ኣካላት ብምትሕብባር ቀፃሊ ሓገዝ ክንገብር ኢና ” ኢሎም።
ቅድም ክብል ብፀላእቲ ልምዓት ዝዓነዋ ልዕሊ 35 ማይ ቡንባታት እቲ ወረዳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኣኽሱም ሙሉእ ፅገና፣ መቀያየሪ ኣቑሑትን መወዝወዝን ሓገዝ ከም ዝገበረ ዝፍለጥ እዩ።
On October 21, 2018 E.C. (Ethiopian Calendar), a delegation led by Professor G/Eyesus Birhane, President of Aksum University, visited the La’elay Megareya Tsemri kebele, Lehuts village, in Ahferom Woreda.
The delegation fixed water pumps that had been damaged and remained unrepaired until then, utilizing the expertise of its specialists and instructors. Additionally, the team handed over various replacement parts and observed the water pumps that the university had previously manufactured with ‘Modafik’ in the kebele. The team confirmed that the community of Ahferom Woreda is using the pumps properly before returning.
Mr. G/Tsadik Gebrerufael, the Woreda’s Water Resource Administration head, stated, “Aksum University fully repaired more than 35 water pumps that were broken due to theft, and provided replacement parts and hand pumps manufactured by ‘Modafik,’ enabling them to provide full service to the users. On behalf of Ahferom Woreda, we extend our gratitude.” He further added, “We honor the President of Axum University, Professor G/Eyesus Birhane, the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, Dr. Mekonnen Aregay, the Director of Community Service, Dr. Berhe Tafere, and other leaders and experts for being here with us to see the water pumps you had manufactured and for coming to repair those that were not yet fixed.”
The residents of Ahferom Woreda also expressed their thanks, saying, “We were in trouble because water pumps that were stolen and damaged by thieves were out of service, and we could not drink clean water. Now, Aksum University has repaired the hand water pumps and provided replacement parts, allowing us to drink clean water, for which they deserve our thanks.”
Finally, Professor G/Eyesus Birhane responded to a question raised by the residents regarding future assistance, saying, “The problems of the community are extensive and numerous; however, to solve these problems, we will work in cooperation with the relevant bodies to provide continuous assistance.”
It is known that Aksum University provided full repair, replacement parts, and hand pump assistance for the more than 35 water pumps in the Woreda that were previously destroyed by “enemies of development.”
