Aksum University Organizational Structure

The governance of Aksum University is structured to ensure effective leadership in academic, administrative, and strategic domains, extending across its multiple campuses.

I. University Board (Highest Governing Authority)

Role: The supreme governing body responsible for the overall strategic direction, financial oversight, major policy approvals, and accountability of the university. It ensures the university adheres to its charter and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Approving the university’s mission and vision.
• Appointing the **University President**.
• Overseeing budget and financial health.
• Reviewing institutional performance.

II. University President (Chief Executive Officer)

Role: The principal academic and administrative officer of the university. The President provides overall leadership, manages daily operations, and implements the strategic decisions made by the University Board.

III. Central Vice Presidents (Reporting to the University President)

Vice President for Academic Affairs

Role: Responsible for all academic policies, curriculum development, teaching and learning quality, student admissions, examinations, and academic standards across all faculties and campuses.

Vice President for Administrative Development (Dr. Abreham Negash)

Vice President for Research & Community Service (Dr. Mekonen Aregay)

Vice President for Aksum Institute of Technology (AIT)

IV. Campus Heads (with Vice President Title – Reporting to the University President)
