- Developing and managing the College’s annual budget in line with university policies and strategic priorities, particularly for research grants, professional development, and community outreach programs.
- Overseeing procurement, infrastructure development (e.g., modern classrooms, case study rooms, business incubators), and efficient resource utilization for academic, research, and administrative needs across all departments.
- Implementing university-wide administrative policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
- Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between departments and with other university units.
👥 Student Services
- Assisting students with academic advising, course selection, and registration processes, including guidance on internships, thesis projects, and entrepreneurial ventures.
- Organizing student orientations, career guidance (e.g., in finance, human resources, marketing, public service, entrepreneurship, cooperative development, logistics), and extensive opportunities for practical industry exposure.
- Addressing student concerns, promoting student welfare, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical leadership.
- Supporting student organizations and extracurricular activities related to business and economics.
🔬 Research and Community Engagement
- Encouraging staff and student-led research in areas critical to national and regional economic development in Tigray, Ethiopia, such as market analysis, sustainable business practices, financial inclusion, cooperative development, and supply chain optimization.
- Establishing strong partnerships with various businesses, financial institutions, NGOs, and relevant government bodies (e.g., Ministry of Finance, National Bank of Ethiopia, Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Chamber of Commerce) to foster collaborative research, provide consultancy, and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Hosting business forums, entrepreneurship workshops, public lectures, and outreach programs that contribute to economic literacy, promote entrepreneurship, and address real-world business and economic challenges in Ethiopia and beyond.
